Pollard Posts Solid Top-Five Finish at Montgomery Motor Speedway
Georgia Driver Battles Handing on the Way to Fourth in Show Me the Money Series
Bubba Pollard did what he does best this weekend and raced his way to a strong finish despite once again fighting handling at Montgomery Motor Speedway.
“We struggle there,” explained Pollard of the Alabama track. “We really don’t have a good base line like we need. We worked on the car during practice the best we could. At the start of the race we were really tight, so we figured it was early in the race so we’d come on in and pit I try to make ourselves better.”
Although it wasn’t quite the outcome he wanted, Pollard was still pleased just to break a streak of bad luck at the Alabama track and still be running when the checkers flew, after getting caught up in a wreck and falling out on the first lap of the previous event.
“We haven’t been able to finish a race and learn anything the last couple of races here,” said Pollard. “We made a couple of adjustments and got in pretty close there at the end but it’s still not where it needs to be, but we made better progress this time than our last time out here.”
Next up for Pollard and his Atlanta Thrifty Nickel crew will be the next South Alabama Speedway Viper Series event on May 21st.
